1. Analyzes recorded and live surveillance video of property-wide activities to detect any suspicious activity, violations of gaming activity including cheating at play, or suspicious financial transactions, which may pose a risk to employees, vendors, guests, Tribal residents or Yaamava’ Resort & Casino operations.
2. Conducts observations, writes detailed and accurate reports, and completes data entry while maintaining the confidentiality of the Surveillance department.
3. Manages telephone calls and radio communications traffic, collecting information, and logging pertinent information utilizing surveillance software simultaneously in a high-output work setting.
4. Collaborates closely and maintains excellent communication with Casino operations and leadership to gather pertinent information and investigate criminal activity, injury or illness claims/reports, and safety risks.
5. Learns all games offered by Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. Possesses strong math aptitude for verifying and authorizing payouts, reimbursement, or reconciliation issues and applies knowledge to mitigate wrongdoings.
6. Performs department audits to ensure regulatory compliance pertaining to financial transactions, morning audit drops or count room procedures, table games play, and food and beverage health and safety codes.
7. Maintains working knowledge of Tribal Gaming Commission internal controls, casino policies and procedures, federal and state gaming regulations, Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and U.S. Bank Secrecy Act as it relates to Title 31 and Suspicious Activity Reports pertaining to Casino activities.
8. Performs camera checks and inputs technical surveillance work orders or malfunction forms and reports any other problems pertaining to surveillance equipment.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field (i.e., criminal justice, accounting, law, or psychology) is preferred.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in surveillance or relevant casino experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa)Must possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), commercial database systems, and internet research skills.
Must possess excellent report writing skills and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to understand and use various database management systems and the technological components of computers.
Must be able to multitask with different and sometimes conflicting events happening simultaneously.
Basic mathematical skills, including calculating figures, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers.
The ability to successfully pass an internal certification on all table games offered at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino within one (1) year is required.
Certified Surveillance Professionals (CSP) certification is preferred.
Licenses, Certifications And RegistrationsAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
