Job Overview Fairview has an immdeiate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Delivery Room at Fairview St. John's Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. We’re offering an up to $4,500 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus! As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the delivery room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the delivery room. Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend. Free parking! Summary: As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for: Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens. Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment. Modifying clinical interventions based on population served. Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. Anticipating the surgeon’s needs. Following appropriate action in emergency situations.
