Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities Responsible for performing as a primary scrub handling instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique. Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. Prepare the surgical suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout the procedure. Decontaminate, sterilize, assemble and wrap instruments following proper standards. Qualifications Job Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Certified Surgical Technology Program High School diploma or GED Active BLS certification Preferred Job Requirements One year of Surgical Technology experience Certified through the NBSTSA or NCCT
