**Req Number** 166320 Responsibilities: + Performs duties of a 'scrub' person under the direction of a registered professional nurse. + Checks and gathers all instruments for each case using the surgeon's preference card. + Verifies sterility tapes, dates, and integrity of wrappers. + Assists the circulating nurse with supplies, equipment, and room setup. + Opens sterile supplies, performs surgical scrub technique, and gowns/gloves self and team. Maintains sterile field and corrects any breaks in technique. + Arranges instruments and supplies for accurate counting post-procedure. + Assists with counts of sponges, laps, needles, drains, devices, and instruments. + Uses devices and instruments appropriately and performs standard draping technique. + Passes and handles instruments safely and efficiently. + Breaks down setup and prepares instruments for sterilization. + Performs related duties as required. Required Experience and Qualifications: + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Completion of a nationally accredited surgical technologist program. + Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA. + May work up to 12 months post-program completion without CST credential, but must obtain and maintain certification thereafter. + Must remain in good standing with NYS regulations. + Prior OR Technician experience required. + BCLS certification preferred*Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
