**Job Overview** Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist at Wyoming Lakes Hospital located in Wyoming, MN. This is a casual/0.01 FTE opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours per pay period and this role is not eligible for benefits. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for: + Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. + Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. + Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens. + Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. + Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room in readiness of next patient. + Aligns with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards. + Cultivates a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. + Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment. + Modifying clinical interventions based on population served. + Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. + Anticipating the surgeon’s needs. + Following appropriate action in emergency situations. **Required Qualifications** + Military surgical assistant or + Surgical technologist training + Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN) **Preferred Qualifications** + Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program. + 1- 3 years surgical experience + AST Certification or certification eligible at time of hire **Benefit Overview** Fairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
