Join our dedicated surgical team in a fast-paced hospital setting. We seek skilled Surgical Technicians to assist with orthopedic surgeries. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the sterile field, ensuring efficiency, and supporting optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.Pass instrumentation only to Residents during operations.Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and functioning.Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.Work with Pharmacy and assist with STAT testing as needed.Support patient care activities under RN supervision when not in the operating room.Assist with triaging and follow infection control protocols.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required.CST preferred but NOT required.OB experience is mandatory.BLS certification from the American Heart Association.Fire Card/MAB certification.3-5 years of experience in a Hospital.Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Training & Onboarding:No formal training provided; orientation will last 4-6 hours upon arrival.Work Culture:Team-oriented department – everyone helps one another.Encouraged to ask questions and be assertive in learning.Strong emphasis on bedside manner and patient communication.Seeking reliable, punctual professionals committed to patient care.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a high-volume unit.Familiarity with electronic medical records (CHMC uses Cerner, though EPIC experience is also valuable).Cerner YouTube Training Videos available for review before onboarding.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
