Position: Surgical Technician
Schedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Day Shift – includes weekdays and weekend (stand by on call component). 
Location: Providence Medford Medical Center
Sign-On Bonus: $8,000 for eligible external hires!

 

A Day in the Life of a Surgical Tech at Providence Medford:

You arrive early, review the day’s surgical schedule, and begin preparing operating rooms—ensuring all instruments, sutures, and surgical tools are sterilized and perfectly arranged. You're a master of readiness, anticipating every move and need before it happens.

During procedures, you are the surgeon’s right hand—literally. You pass instruments, hold retractors, manage sponges, and maintain a sterile environment with laser focus. You are cool under pressure, quick on your feet, and ready for anything!

No two days are the same—orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgeries and more—each procedure brings new challenges, and you're a critical player in every one.

Required Qualifications: 

Acceptable education requirements include one of the following:Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT.Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and who completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years.“Grandfathered” based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and who complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Certification and/or all education requirements must be met at time of hire.
