SurgicalTech First Assist,Surgery / OR Department Job Type:PRN,VariableShift Provides directassistanceto thesurgeon(s)during surgical procedures. Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following: * Positions patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizingequipmentwhen necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety. * Provides visualization of the operative site using appropriatemethod, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation. * Utilizes appropriatetechniqueto achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis. * Assistswith body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
