*Surgical Technologist* ** *Schedule:*this is a full-time, 40-hour/week position that typically works Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, based on scheduled cases for the day. 1 in 4 call and 1 in 4 weekends is required. Understands the procedures being performed and can anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during procedure. Transports to decontamination room upon completion of the surgical procedure. * Prepares and maintains equipment and surgical instruments in the OR suite and ensures their proper set-up. Responsible for all instruments, maintaining them in good working order, and assuring the availability of needed instruments to do all surgical cases. * Maintains sterile field and counts all instruments, sponges, needles etc, needed for each case. Has necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures. * Cleans, assembles, and prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization when needed. Follows proper sterilization processes.
