Main Campus offers the most effective surgical services, from less invasive techniques to major surgeries for critical conditions. Our surgeons, nurses and support caregivers are committed to an exceptional level of excellence.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM—2:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Oversee and safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing request.
Use a variety of technical skills to assist the nursing staff during surgical cases.
Maintain and control Support Services equipment and supplies.
Oversee and maintain the O.R. environment in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
Oversee, escort and direct customers to the appropriate source of assistance.
Provide a safe environment for patients and their families through producing quality outcomes.
Assist the Supervisor with daily staffing.
Monitor and document quality outcomes.
Oversee and complete patient tracking through electronic software tools.
Coordinate and maintain Uniform Room activities such as locker assignments and scrubs for all O.R. personnel.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or willing to obtain within the new hire period
One year of experience as a Surgical Services Support Technician I or two years of experience as a Lead following through with projects and managing staff
One year of customer service experience
Experience working in a team environment

Physical Requirements:
Requires a full range of body motion including ability to lift and/or bear the weight of 100 pounds with assistance, or more while pulling, lifting, pushing and transferring patients to and from various apparatus; regularly pushes moderate to heavy weight of 100 pounds or more.
Exposure to body fluids.
Must be available for flexible scheduling according to the needs of the surgical area.
Floating may be expected per assignment policies within the surgical support department.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
