physicianrsquos orders and insurance requirements ensuring all necessary paperwork and required tests needed prior to surgery are accurately completed and clearly communicated pre and post surgery instructions to patients Ensures reconciliation of all dropped charges to ensure they match authorized procedures and escalate to appropriate parties if necessary Responsible for maintaining and managing resources including insurance portal access and provides consistent documentation in EPIC to support the obtained insurance authorization Communicates changes in payer and or federal regulatory guidelines to their manager pharmacy staff providers and other clinical departments as applicable Communicates with patient to provide pre and post surgery instructions and obtain completed consent forms and required tests or preparations needed prior to surgeryEnsures necessary HP blood work and other patient tests are completedKeeps physician and clinical staff informed regarding pre op testing and maintains updated documentation and charts available for physician reviewWorks collaboratively with pre registration staff to register patients collect co pays and verify insurance and personal informationContacts insurance company to obtain pre certification of surgeries based on booking sheet and documents in computerSchedules hospital surgeries and preoperative testing
