Summary of Job Duties:The Surgical/Scrub Technologist in Interventional Radiology (IR) is responsible for assisting physicians and nurses during minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role involves preparing and maintaining a sterile field, selecting and handling appropriate instruments and supplies, and ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use. Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases Assembles supplies for Interventional Radiology procedures, maintains the sterile field, passes surgical instruments and supplies, and assists in room preparationExhibits practical knowledge of IR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects. educates and prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, and preparing procedural/testing sites Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional proceduresEducates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperationAssists with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriateImplements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipmentTroubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary and keeps coworkers informed of statusResponsible for daily work assignments.
