**Surgical Scheduling Specialist Fulltime Days**
**_We’re looking for a highly motivated, high energy and qualified Surgical Scheduling Specialist to join our Texas Health family._**
**Position Highlights:**
+ **Work location:** Texas Health Fort Worth: 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
+ **Work hours:** Full-Time, Monday-Friday: Days; 40 hours/week; 8:30am- 5pm
**Department Highlights:**
+ You will work within a group of 5 schedulers and is 1 of 2 schedulers trained to be subject matter experts over these procedures.

**What You Will Do:**
· Schedules testing and/or procedures for single department in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
· Performs Medessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines.
· Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.
· Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures. Maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership.
· Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.
**Education**
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
**Experience**
1 Year Related experience. Req
**Licenses and Certifications**
CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Pref
**Skills**
Requires good written, oral, and telephone communication skills. Requires knowledge of general office equipment, PC?s and associated software packages. Ability to type 35 WPM corrected for errors preferred. General knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
