The Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation is seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join our World-Class Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Group.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services efficiently. Working in collaboration, with our physicians and staff, the APP shares responsibility for the well-being of our patients.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting post ops and follow-ups for the surgeon in clinic 2 days a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays).Serve as a first (1st) assist in the operating room 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday & Fridays).Gathering comprehensive medical data, including health history, and analyzing physical examination results. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such blood tests, imaging, and assessing deviations from normal. Developing and implementing patient management plans, documenting consult notes, progress notes, and contributing to continuity of care. Educating and advising patients on adhering to prescribed therapeutic regimens. Collaborating with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care. Assisting in triaging in-basket messages, including patient referrals, and communicating with pre- and post-procedure patients about their care. Performing other assigned duties.**General office hours 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility as needed
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies accredited by ARC-PA.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants. Drug enforcement Administration (DEA)Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the State of California. Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Experience:
Preferably prior experience as a Physician Assistant in relevant clinical areas such as general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties.
