Surgical Coordinator - Encinitas

Join a caring team supporting Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas as a Surgical Coordinator in the Surgery department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

Working alongside the RN charge nurse to provide administrative and clerical support for a group of patients and caregivers.Related functions supporting timekeeping process, filing, staff scheduling, attendance tracking, data collection and reporting and special projects.Serving as the primary communication point of contact for the unit; manage the communication system for the unit, input computer orders for patients, schedule and monitor charging procedures, book add-on surgery cases, verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and assist other team members in assuring optimal patient care.

Required Qualifications:

Previous administrative support experience.Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.Prior experience in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Surgical Specialties/Surgery.
