Position Summary:
The Surgery Supply Coordinator is a member of the central supply team and reports to the manager of Supply Chain and is responsible for maintaining par level of supplies needed to provide patient care in surgery.
Maintains current knowledge of trends in field specific to assigned unit. Checks stocks levels daily.Plans and places re-supply orders utilizing appropriate and cost-effective vendors.Plans and places re-supply orders according to schedule and needs.Fills out and completes purchase orders.Maintains files in active and completed orders.Checks all received orders for accuracy.Fills floor stock as assignedDemonstrates required skills appropriate to specialty area.Keeps work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Checks for expiration dates.Demonstrates required skills appropriate for ordering.Orders special supplies as needed.Works with schedulers for special supplies needed for cases.Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior motor skills and/or activates that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner.Knowledge of daily schedule including added and cancelled cases. Knowledge of projected daily schedule and orders necessary items.Responsible for physicians’ supply.Maintains re-stocked supplies.Incorporates HP Medical Center’s mission of “quality care with compassion and respect” into daily performance job functions.Attend daily schedule review.Maintains a relationship with reps and reached out to assist with any supply issues/back order supplies. Minimum one year recent experience as a buyer for medical supplies.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work in a union environment.
