We are seeking Lab Technician for our Surface Treatment Department to join our Team at Raytheon ELCAN. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing chemical baths for our processes, making chemical additions to maintain the baths, recording data and troubleshooting when challenges arise. You will collaborate closely with co-workers in addition to Process Planners and Engineering to trouble shoot and navigate through various production challenges. Continuous improvement and cost reductions will also be requested regularly during day to day activities. Requirements/Key Competencies
Understanding of Surface Treatment Processes and techniques (Anodizing, Plating, etc)Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentsKnowledge of safety protocols and practices in a lab environmentExperience in handling hazardous materials safelyMeticulous in documenting experimental data and maintaining lab recordsAnalytical reasoning, decision makingProactive team builderEffectual interpersonal, leadership and communications skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as neededDemonstrated interest in process improvementHighly motivated with a positive attitudeWillingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experienceEducation and Technical Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and/or MetallurgyMinimum 3 year of experience working in a production environmentTechnical ability to interpret drawingsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements. Job offers will be conditional upon candidates undergoing a successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program.
