The Role

The role involves supporting and executing the surety business strategy in Great Britain and select European locations, working closely with the European Surety Leader. It includes identifying and prospecting new clients, maintaining strong relationships through excellent service, and providing expert advice on surety bond requirements. The successful candidate will be managing client information and communications with underwriters, handling daily client needs such as bond requests and renewals, and leading a team to grow the surety book of business. Effective communication and frequent travel within GB and occasionally Europe are also essential aspects of the role. As part of the team, you will:

Participate in the development and execution of Surety GLoB business strategy in GB and agreed locations in close collaboration with European Surety Leader. Identifying and prospecting new clients through face-to-face and phone interactions. Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships by providing excellent customer service, attending client meetings as required. Responsible for requesting periodic informational updates, analysing them and communicating data to underwriters. Responds to clients’ needs and questions relating to client bond program, specific project opportunities and offer expert advice and guidance on surety bond requirements to meet client needs. Recruit, train, motivate, and lead staff to achieve business objectives and to build/manage the Surety book of business. Communicates with underwriters on status of account or individual bond approvals. Manage day-to-day needs for clients, including bond requests, billing issues, bond reports, bond close-outs; process bond requests within time frames required by the client. Bond Renewals – Review bond renewal listing. Obtain information as to whether bond is to be renewed and/or any changes, submit information to underwriters to update bond information - process invoicing and/or certificates if required. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients/peers/sureties. Frequent travel within GB & occasionally Europe is expected.

The Requirement

Extensive working experience in a Surety or Commercial Broker environment.Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities using sound judgment and resourcefulness in a fast paced environment.Strong decision-making capabilities.Must be results oriented.Ability to provide superior customer service to the client and the sureties.Strong organizational skills in prioritizing duties and multi-tasking, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and independently carry out specific assignments and tasks.
