Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will monitor progress towards program goals and identify issues. You will organize work, set priorities and determines resource requirements for all counseling center staff. You will directly address matters involving: difficult and complex problems, application of new or questionable counseling techniques and methods, and decisions that require further clarification with the higher level behavioral health supervisor. You will plan and schedule ongoing work to be accomplished by all staff including administrative, clinical, prevention and drug demand reduction. You will evaluate work performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. You will develop and fully administer a multi-modality comprehensive treatment program designed to treat substance use disorder related problems of active duty military and other eligible personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Monitor and develop programs relating to substance misuse prevention and treatment, identify problems and develop continuous improvements to achieve program goals. Schedule work for the staff to accomplish aligning with mission goals while developing means to increase production and quality and evaluate completed work and give feedback as necessary. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: 180 Series IORs 185 Series IORs Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you will also be required to meet the following the individual occupational requirement(s) (IOR). 0180: Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. OR 0185: Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9. In addition to meeting the IORs, you can qualify with the following educational requirement in lieu of specialized experience:3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
