It's clear Coarc values its employees, and I'm proud to be part of this organization." – New Hire Testimonial What You'll Do As a Supportive Services Counselor, you'll work directly with individuals in Respite, Community Habilitation, and Supportive IRA settings. You'll provide guidance, instruction, and support to help each person reach their full potential-whether it's learning life skills, engaging in the community, or developing personal goals. Key Responsibilities + Build trusting relationships with individuals and families while maintaining confidentiality. + Provide support in daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and personal care. + Encourage and facilitate community participation, recreational activities, and social engagement. + Assist individuals with health and safety practices at home and in the community. + Help individuals develop and work toward goals outlined in their Habilitation Plans. + Transport individuals to medical appointments, social outings, and errands as needed. + Ensure a safe, healthy, and supportive environment in home and community settings. + Complete required documentation and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner. + Collaborate with a team of professionals to coordinate services and support plans. Requirements + High School Diploma or GED required. + Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. + Valid driver's license required. + Must be able to obtain certifications in Adult CPR, First Aid, OPWDD Medication Administration, and others as needed. + Basic computer and documentation skills. + Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds and support individuals in a variety of home and community environments.
