Position: Support Technician/Specialist II

Location: Sausalito, CA

Pay Rate: $30-40/hour

Position Type: Contract position (W2) with benefits

We are looking for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing. They must be willing to take direction and use that direction to either work independently or coordinate between multiple teams to reach goals assigned as part of projects. This role will be 100% onsite support role, requiring work at various sites as needed depending on location.  The role will oversee client subtask activity, assigns, and monitors client tickets, and works with XFN partners to ensure timely and successful delivery of support tickets.  This role will also be supported by supervisor and technical resources.

Responsibilities:

Work within company's task systemFirst point of contact for break fix techniciansWork with XFN partners and vendors to support physical building network infrastructure.    Responsible for assisting with projects (retrofits, new process documentation, etc.Take direction from Sr Engineer to identify project and task priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

Understand and debug hardware and Linux OS and Windows related issues.Datacenter knowledgeRacking equipment, cabling both copper and fiber ethernetHave a basic understanding of networks and the principles behind itExperience implementing technology.Ability to learn new technologies quickly.Strong computer skills especially with the Microsoft Office Suite.Strong/proactive work ethicsStrong Oral and written communication skillsExperience understanding and communicating technical information to non-experts.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years experience in a research environment.5+ years of experience in a data center or related field.Knowledge of Linux and server hardware support.Knowledge of networks and related hardware support.

Optional Qualifications:

Experience with networked cameras and sensors in 3D capture environments and virtual reality (VR) applications is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
