General Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for functions in support of engineering activities. This will include, but not limited to, installation and relocating of equipment, installing cabling (Coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics), supporting engineering lab equipment, maintenance of Linux hosts and network connected devices, and any other support activities required to support engineering

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities as defined by management to support engineeringPerforming software and hardware upgradesInstallation of coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics cablingBuilding racks and installing equipment following rack elevation and wiring diagramsAble to work in priority order as defined by management and project leadsAssist with lab moves as well as cleaning and organization efforts

Required Competencies:

Familiarity with Linux and WindowsAbility to following instructions and published documentationFamiliarity with Microsoft OfficeExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong customer service skills and time managementAbility to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong debug skillsA willingness to learn and be flexible with daily job assignments

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic understanding of TCP/IP including DNS and DHCPStrong understanding of Linux OS systemsFamiliarity with scripting languages such as python or perlFormal electronics education via military or trade school

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform repetitive actions such as going up and down a ladder or running cable over headAbility to lift and carry up to 50lbs over short distances

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$34.19 - $51.29

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
