Job Description: Facilities Logistics Support
Locations: Catawba / Claremont
Work Hours -Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm
Position Summary
The Facilities Logistics Support - Splits time between (1) site logistics—transporting scrap material and lumber to approved disposal sites (2) maintenance data & asset entry - keeping critical safety and asset records current for a large-scale cable-manufacturing facility. The role supports plant cost-improvement projects and assists the broader facilities-maintenance team with day-to-day tasks, always operating with a “safety-first” mindset.

Core Duties
1. Transportation & Site Logistics (≈30 %)
• Operate company truck (CDL Class B) to haul building scrap, lumber, and other non-hazardous waste to the designated landfill.
• Inspect vehicle before and after each trip; document findings; report repairs.
• Coordinate loading/unloading procedures to minimize landfilled cost.
• Maintain disposal logs and weight tickets for sustainability and cost-tracking metrics.
• Follow DOT/FMCSA regulations, plant traffic rules, and all PPE requirements.
2. Electrical-Safety Data Management (≈30 %)
• Enter and update Arc-Flash study results, PPE categories, and equipment labels in the maintenance-management system (CMMS).
• Input Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, energy-isolation points, and control verification steps; ensure version control.
• Liaise with EHS and engineering to close gaps discovered during audits.
3. Asset Validation & Cost-Improvement
Support (≈20 %)
• Physically verify equipment assets (extruders, payoffs, take ups, chillers etc.) across the plant; reconcile serial numbers, locations, and condition in CMMS.
• Gather runtime, downtime, and maintenance-cost data to aid continuous-improvement (CI) teams.
• Participate in events focused on scrap reduction, energy savings, or reliability gains.
4. Facilities-Maintenance Assistance (≈20 %)
• Support preventive and corrective work orders—basic skills - as directed by Facilities Manager.
• Assist with stock room, parts staging, and inventory counts.

Safety & Compliance Expectations
Zero-incident mindset: Model safe behaviors; stop work for any unsafe condition. PPE discipline: Always wear task-appropriate PPE and enforce usage among helpers. Vehicle safety: Conduct CDL pre-trip/post-trip inspections, keep logs, and report defects immediately.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; technical certificate in industrial maintenance a plus. Valid CDL Class B with clean driving record; airbrake and dump-body experience preferred. Working knowledge of CMMS or EAM software (e.g., SAP). Familiarity with NFPA 70E arc-flash labeling and OSHA LOTO standards. (Trainable) Basic mechanical / electrical aptitude a plus Ability to lift 50 lb, climb ladders, and work in hot/cold environments. Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and cost-conscious decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing or facilities. Forklift certification.

Schedule: Day shift – 40 Hours Monday – Friday 7-3
