Summary The incumbent serves in the Materiel Management Section within the Logistics Department Section of the Facilities Management Service Line at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Use of various programs and websites to track tasks and responses. Collecting all recalls and notices on various products. Track responses to recalls and notices. Verify appropriate action taken on identifying, removing, and returning recalled items. Performs data entry into automated systems. Disseminate information on recalls and notices to various customers. Work with others on implementing and documenting recall corrective actions. Able to follow policies and help others follow procedures regarding recalled items. Served as a liaison between their department and others in a larger setting. Collecting documentation on actions completed for record keeping. Served as a timekeeper of other employees. Performed various administrative tasks such as correspondence and tracking equipment. Able to set and establish budgets. Able to compile figures, records and reports. Process transactions and reconciling balances. Analyze expenditure reports and certifying invoices. Can balance accounts and request adjustments to satisfy invoices Has used a purchase card for micro purchases and payment only cards for deliveries. Maintain an auditing system. Made purchases in support of supply chain needs. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30 pm Telework: This position may be authorized for telework. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures and instructions applicable to all duties assigned in order to review proposed purchases, review records and demand data to determine if property is subject to recall and removal; ability to work with the service lines in implementing and documenting corrective actions; ability to identify potential customer services needs or areas and resolve discrepancies; maintain records and compiling data for accuracy; utilize automated systems to track and monitor supply inventory and expendable supply purchasing program. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Administration and Management Attention to Detail Financial Management Teamwork Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Typically, the employee sits to do the work. However, there is some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items, such as papers, books, etc. No special physical demands are encountered to perform the work. Additional Information Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
