Supply Technician, Lead (Stock Control) - Supply
This position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require: (a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. **Responsibilities** + Lead /coordinate, provide guidance, training and supervision of the activities in the daily operation and management of ASP Stock Control. You are also required to teach, mentor, counsel and train all ammunition personnel. + Responsible for all operations of SAAS and TAMIS to include all responsibility for filing any transactions, reports, orders, and issues that occur daily. + Processes a range of scheduled routine operations using Logistics Information Systems (LIS), Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS)/Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS) operators with System Change Package (SCP 11), Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS), experience IOT track and find disposition of ammunition assets through the SAAS pipeline. + Manage stocks, coordinating, and controlling requirements, receipt, issue, transfer, location change, verify information provided on customer DA Form 1687, accept E581 from Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS), disposition of ammunition, turn-in residue, ammunition components and packing materials; provide guidance on using automated Standard Army Ammunition System Modernization (SAAS) system and provide technical assistance to customers. + Responsible for clearing Inbound and Outbound freight shipments and tracing freight identified that is determined to a frustrated using Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). + Inspects In-bound shipments from notification of consignee for possibility of improper handling by commercial carrier. + Participates in the planning and coordinating of ammunition inventories to ensure the proper carrying out of the overall inventory functions. Participates in causative research on stock record balances not agreeing with inventory counts. Provides detailed comparisons from available information sources to include historical records and SAAS transaction files. + Performs outstanding customer service and support functions; those processes used to support the total requirement of customers to gain logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations. + Research and analyze problems to determine if problems are human error or systemic. + Uses available resources to resolve errors and determine cause of discrepancies and adjustments required to bring stock records into agreement with inventories. Participates in the preparation of various ammunition transaction documents pertaining to stock control functions. + Inspects vehicles for over the road ammunition transport, utilizing the DD Form 626. + Responsible, under the direction of the ASP Supervisor and Supply Tech Lead, for all stock control procedures and SAAS documentation which include scheduling reports; archiving files; storage files maintenance; input; and output. + Participate in providing technical assistance in using the various LIS programs to maintain a complete and accurate database. Maintains hard copy files of supply transactions, voucher numbers, causative research, adjustment documents, document register, and other records related to ASP operations. + Enforce safety, breaks, lunches and works with the Supervisor to implement organizational changes. + Crosstrain ASP personnel on the proper operation of SAAS. Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned. + Compiles/Prepares reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly, as required). + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + High School graduate or equivalent. Formal training in ammunition handling is required. Training such as 89B (Ammunition Specialist) is highly preferred. Training in ammunition breakdown, distribution and accountability. Special Technical Training in Ammunition such as that conducted by the Defense Ammunition Center, Savanna, IL is also preferred although, equivalent practical experience gained through recent, extensive, day-to-day handling of ammunition may be acceptable in lieu of formal training. + A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the receipt, issue, storage, shipment and accountability of ammunition and ammunition residue is required as outlined in TM 9-1300-206, FM 9-13 and DA PAM 710-2-1. 5 years of supervisory experience. Must display an in-depth understanding of prescribed safety and security procedures relating to ammunition and explosives. HAZARD and Ammunition Certification. + Two to four years’ experience and knowledge in a leadership environment. Managing at least five employees is preferred. Skill set in customer relations, communication, and ability to work well with others. + Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to starting or by 30 days after employment. + Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC and SECRET Clearance. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results. + Material & Equipment Directly Used: + Forklifts (4K, 6K, 10K), other material handling equipment, PC’s, printers, fax machine, copier. **Physical Demands & Working Environment:** + Work is generally conducted in an out-of-doors environment with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. + Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas.
