At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a capital buyer to join our team. 
The primary responsibility of the capital buyer is: The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships while supporting departmental operations, strategic planning, and customer service. This role interfaces with department leaders, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure efficient purchasing, data integrity, and compliance with organizational policies, including those of the National Earthquake Alliance for Healthcare (NEAH) and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) requirements. The specialist also oversees training, maintains system data, and supports both capital and consumable purchasing processes.

Contributes to short- and long-term departmental planning and strategy.

Actively participate in the Value Analysis Committee and NEAH events as directed.

Manages procurement of supplies, services, equipment, and capital purchases in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines, including signature authority.

Secures authorization for capital purchases and coordinates with the Consumable Buyer to adjust ordering PARs for consumable products related to equipment purchases.

Monitors and manages inventory, resolves discrepancies, and scans/replenishes PAR carts, adjusting optimal quantities to ensure product availability.

Establishes and maintains rapport with vendor representatives, keeping contact listings up to date and leading Vendormate vendor credentialing.

Prepares statistical summaries and reports from MMIS, including purchase history, usage, expense, departmental spend, vendor analysis, and item data integrity.
An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to meet our insurance driving record requirements.
* Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred.
* Three (3) years of previous purchasing experience required, healthcare setting preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation are required.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* The ability to work effectively in groups, build consensus and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within our healthcare system and suppliers is required.
* Demonstrated proficiency with D-H's Enterprise Resource Planning System (PeopleSoft) will be required within three (3) months of employment.
