Supply Chain Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will manage purchasing operations and ensure seamless supply chain processes while maintaining compliance with company policies. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with vendors, optimize inventory, and support business objectives through efficient procurement and logistics strategies. Responsibilities: • Procure direct and indirect goods, equipment, and supplies while ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines. • Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans aimed at cost reduction and operational efficiency. • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements. • Monitor supplier performance by conducting evaluations and assessments to ensure quality and reliability. • Issue purchase orders for necessary equipment, goods, and supplies, and resolve discrepancies in invoices when required. • Address and resolve delivery, quality, quantity, or cost issues that may arise during procurement. • Manage inventory levels, including reordering, receiving, storage, and adjustments within the inventory management system. • Process returns for defective, unused, or incorrect equipment and oversee proper packaging and delivery. • Coordinate and execute year-end inventory counts to maintain accurate records. • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze supply capabilities and recommend cost-saving alternatives. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in supply chain management or purchasing. • Proficiency in purchasing functions, including indirect purchasing and materials procurement. • Familiarity with supply chain logistics and inventory management processes. • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships effectively. • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Solid understanding of invoice processing and resolving discrepancies. • Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
