SUMMARY The Senior Supply Chain Manager will serve as the primary On-Site Jabil representative to a leading modular home builder, operating in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role is embedded full-time at the customer’s facility Onsite in Vallejo, CA, and is responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of all supply chain functions including purchasing, warehousing, inventory management, and material flow. This individual will lead and develop an integrated team of buyers, planners, and warehouse staff while owning the end-to-end flow of materials—ensuring that all items are received properly, stored securely, and delivered accurately and on time to meet production schedules. They will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and project management teams to maintain build velocity and eliminate delays. In addition to daily operational responsibilities, the Senior Supply Chain Manager is expected to drive efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and process standardization that support both short-term production targets and long-term scalability. This position is critical to ensuring seamless alignment between Jabil and the customer’s factory operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES On-Site Client Representation + Serve as the primary on-site interface between Jabil and the modular home builder’s senior leadership + Lead customer engagement on all matters related to material flow, production readiness, inventory control, and supplier performance + Represent Jabil in planning meetings, status reviews, audits, and operations forums Team Development & Communication + Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team across warehouse operations, procurement, and inventory planning + Maintain strong internal communication between on-site and off-site Jabil resources + Translate customer needs into actionable supply chain activities with clear accountability SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Purchasing and Market Intelligence + Analyze market segment dynamics and align procurement strategy accordingly + Identify and address gaps in Jabil’s supply base to meet customer and program-specific needs + Build strategic supplier partnerships for key architectural and structural components Cost Management + Use cost modeling and analysis tools to benchmark and negotiate favorable pricing + Implement advanced supply chain programs such as Just-in-Time (JIT), consignment, and supplier-managed inventory + Drive initiatives to improve landed cost and inventory efficiency Program Execution + Collaborate with Supply Chain Project Managers to manage sourcing activity at the program level + Support AVL control, BOM development, and early supplier involvement initiatives + Ensure timely RFQ execution and competitive bid strategies for new and existing programs Customer Service and Performance Management + Act as Jabil’s supply chain expert in all customer-facing settings + Lead issue resolution related to materials, inventory shortages, and logistics disruptions + Ensure program KPIs related to cost, delivery, and inventory performance are achieved PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS & ORDER MANAGEMENT + Oversee the performance and alignment of both onshore and offshore buying teams to ensure timely purchasing and effective supplier engagement + Coordinate daily with offshore teams to address open purchase order issues, confirm delivery dates, and maintain ERP data accuracy + Provide daily delivery updates to the customer, including anticipated arrivals, potential delays, and risk mitigation plans + Manage expedited and rush order requests with urgency, escalating where necessary to avoid production interruptions + Monitor open order reports, proactively identify at-risk items, and ensure material availability to meet build plans + Work cross-functionally with planning, engineering, and warehouse teams to align purchasing execution with production demand WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS & INVENTORY FLOW MANAGEMENT Material Flow Execution + Oversee all material receiving, staging, storage, and kitting functions to support a high-volume, heavy manufacturing environment + Ensure that materials are tracked, stored, and delivered to the production line in a timely and accurate manner + Manage staging of large-format components such as HVAC, windows, and lumber with special handling and storage requirements Inventory Control + Develop and manage inventory control policies and procedures + Monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, shrinkage, days on hand, and excess/obsolete inventory + Conduct regular cycle counts, physical audits, and root cause analysis of variances Process Improvement + Continuously evaluate warehouse layout, kitting strategy, and labor efficiency to optimize throughput + Implement lean practices to eliminate waste, improve material visibility, and reduce non-value-added handling + Introduce new systems and technologies to enhance tracking, planning, and productivity Compliance and Safety + Ensure compliance with site-specific safety protocols and material handling regulations + Promote a safe work environment and enforce adherence to Jabil and customer safety standards MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field + 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a warehouse-intensive or factory-embedded role + Domestic travel up to 25% + Demonstrated success in material planning, procurement, warehouse operations, and cross-functional coordination + Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial production environments preferred + Proficiency with ERP and WMS systems; familiarity with lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus + Excellent leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills The pay range for this role is $112,900 - $203,300. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
