Job Description

We’re looking for a driven and strategic leader to join our team and play a key role in safeguarding Expeditors’ global supply chain. This mid-level leadership position is responsible for identifying and managing risk by investigating potential disruptions, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and thrives on turning data into action and creating solutions internally as well as with our customers and service provider partners.  You’ll lead initiatives that improve supply chain efficiency, drive continuous improvement, and support long-term resilience. In this role, you’ll also build and manage vendor relationships, assess supplier performance, and contribute to scalable solutions across our network.

Risk Identification and Assessment:

Analyze supply chain data to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas of risk.Conduct risk assessments to determine the likelihood and impact of potential disruptions.Maintain regular contact with local and national agencies for security intelligence

Mitigation Strategy Development and Implementation:

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, such as diversifying suppliers, improving inventory management, and enhancing security protocols.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of mitigation plans.Implementing global security requirements while working toward mitigation strategies throughout the supply chain in India.Scenario Planning and Preparedness: Engaging in extensive scenario analysis to prepare for potential future risks, even those that are currently unknown or seem unlikely. This includes regular reviews and updates of risk management plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Investigation and Reporting:

Investigate potential losses or disruptions within the supply chain, gathering information and evidence.Have the ability to work with all stakeholders including the local/national authorities to provide the best chance of recovery.Prepare reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and proposed actions.

Compliance and Monitoring:

Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards related to supply chain risk management.Continuously monitor the supply chain for emerging risks and adapt mitigation strategies accordingly.

Relationship Management:

Establish and maintain relationships with key supply chain stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers.Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions.Assist in deploying customer security requirements to ensure adherance.Meet with customers to discuss security challenges, point of contact for customer losses

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze supply chain data to identify trends and patterns, and provide insights for decision-making.Generate reports and presentations summarizing supply chain performance, risk levels, and mitigation efforts.

 

QualificationsEducation (preferred level) - Bachelors DegreeExperience (minimum level of direct experience in a similar position) - +5 Years

Experience

The ideal candidate should have hands on experience in managing supply chains, domestic logistics in India including Domestic Trucking, Warehousing and CFS.  Experience in International Logistics is an added advantage. Practical experience in a logistics company, manufacturing or trading company and MNC knowledge will be an added advantage.

Experience in supply chain investigations, recovery, assessment.Experience in law enforcement in IndiaLoss Prevention and mitigation expertise.Experience in security technology implementation for supply chain

Internal Collaboration: Cross-departmental collaboration within an organisation for cohesive risk management.Partner Engagement: Close cooperation and ability to engage with  logistics providers, and customers and the law enforcement resources for a united approach to managing risks.Navigating complexities in global supply chains, including varied regulations and geopolitical risks that can impact the organization and partners in IndiaStrong communication skills internally and externally with ability to provide the right results.Ability to provide and support in execution of logistics operations changes needed to protect the organization.

Knowledge:

Supply chain knowledgeUnderstanding of hiring practices, challenges and background checks.Detailed understanding and practical knowledge of AEO, CTPAT and TAPA. High level of English fluency (written and spoken) required
