Job Description:

A vacancy for a Supply chain and quality management has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid)

The selected candidate will join the Supply chain and quality manager  as part of the Central Engineering organization.

RESPONSABILITIES

You are the central contact for on-time and on-quality performance, both in direct exchange with your suppliers as well as in internal forums of procurement relevant functions

You ensure that the supply chain processes and quality requirements from contracts are respected and, if necessary, improved

You ensure the industrial maturity of your suppliers and drive actions to improve the maturity to suit Airbus needs and expectations

You are responsible for supplier qualification, e.g. based on performance data or compliance with international standards such as ISO9001 or EN9100

You are responsible for risk analysis-based supplier monitoring; which can e.g. be carried out through audits or assessments

You analyze vendor-related malfunction reports and ensure the systematic initiation of containment actions, determine the root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions

You actively contribute to the development of suppliers, for example through improvement projects, the agreement of Tactical Improvement Plans (TIP’s) or the implementation of standards such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

SKILLS

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Educated to degree level in Engineering or Science Degree. Valuable: Master's Engineer or Master's Sciences Degree.
Experience in Engineering, at least 5 years of proven experience in Composites and/or Metal and/or Surface Materials and Processes, testing of materials including also mechanical testing, as well as comprehension of adequate test methods.
You are able to support technically new material supplier qualifications and developments. You have experience in impact analysis and problem solving.
Experience in international environment
You will have also experience/knowledge in:

Knowledge about the materials requirements for Aircraft Airbus Standards and quality standards
Material technology development
Scientific and technology laboratories (materials analysis, physical observation of samples), etc.
Project Management,
Knowledge in the field of materials of low observability applications, also for other functionalities like thermal or electrical
You are recognized for your flexibility, interpersonal skills, ability to find solutions and for your ability to face pressure,
A good level of English and Spanish is required for this position. Other languages are also appreciated.
Availability for relatively frequent travelling is required
