General Summary:
The Supply Chain Procedural Specialist Sr. will be assigned to own the management of supplies.
Because Senior-level procedural specialists are the sole supply chain representative the role will be responsible the Supply Chain Operations team as a direct liaison with medical, administration, clinical and nursing leadership personnel.
They are also expected to and manage supplies outside of the standard procedural specialist process (i.e. non-kanban inventory, ambulatory inventory, etc.).
Customer service is critical to meet the support requirements and daily demand within the hospital or ambulatory area. The role will require, self-motivation and adherences to the hospital and departmental policies.
This role is expected to be capable of utilizing various technology applications/software (Workday, etc.), provide first-step resolution to open issues, elevate opportunities for improvement to a manager, work within a team environment, and have excellent communication skills.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform daily scanning and replenishment activities for assigned par locations.General maintenance of assigned par locations including bin organization, stockout management and substitute item tagging is expected.Execute processes that are unique to assigned areas such as consignment workflows, non-kanban pars, par locations inside of procedure rooms that may not be always accessible, cabinets containing hanging items, etc.Utilize Workday ERP to review reports to validate purchase orders and review open demand data. If required, utilize reports to obtain serial number and usage information for consignment items. Ability to troubleshoot basic issues in ERP and/or escalate to appropriate source when needed.Coordinate with Demand Planning team to add/remove items from pars, adjust inventory levels and print labels as needed.Works with the assigned purchasing buyer to mitigate against back orders, missing supplies and arranges for approved substitutions.Also, will participate in daily operational meetings to review backordered items with purchasing team.Coordinate with sales reps as needed for periodic site visits regarding consignment inventory.Assists in the operational conversion process to bring new products into inventory with minimal impact on the financial and operational side. Maintain a clean workspace and ensure supplies are properly labeled, rotated and are easy to find.Prep and participate in annual physical inventory exercises as-needed.Rotates stock and inspecting for damage and expiration with purchasing team. Adheres to Lurie’s expiration policy which includes manual recording for items flagged for bi-annual expiration checks.Works closely with the assigned clinical staff and/or surgical specialist and responds to customer service requests in a timely fashion. Assists with recall management as needed.Responsible for receiving supplies in Workday and delivering packages to requestors (both surgery and ambulatory deliveries).Responsible for covering at other ambulatory sites or areas as needed. For Northbrook and Westchester locations, the Sr. Specialist is primarily responsible for surgery supplies, however they may be asked to manage ambulatory areas as well at the same or neighboring location.Other job functions as assigned.Other Responsibilities:

Attends meetings and educational offerings as assigned.Reports to in-charge person regarding assignments, breaks and lunch; carries hospital provided phone/pager and responds if summoned.Wears appropriate clothing for this area of operation, including but not limited to a cover gown/lab coat when moving outside the restricted area. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment, when appropriate. Integrates Lurie Children’s core values into daily work decisions, and actions; exhibits behavior supportive to this institution in all dealings. Performs all other related duties as assisted or requested.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school level of course work with attainment of a high school diploma or equivalency.A minimum of 5 years of work experience performing logistics-related functions is preferred.Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform limited mathematical operations.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Ability to perform data entry and comfortable utilizing technology, such as ERP, Microsoft applications, etc.Ability to operate potentially hazardous mechanical loading equipment, such as electric power palletEducation
