Supply Chain Material Handler

Basic Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED equivalent 3 years of similar experience Ability to work in hot environment is essential Ability to obtain Mobile Equipment Certification Subject to preemployment contingencies: drug test, physical, and background check Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Mobile Equipment Operator Experience with computers and using MS Excel Experience using hand and power tools

 

Additional Job Requirements:

Candidates must have the flexibility to work overtime; and availability for overtime on weekends as needed or required

Our Savannah Operations is a heavy industrial forging manufacturing plant located in Midway, Georgia, employs approximately 170 people and is poised for growth!

We have immediate opening for a Material Handler with our Supply Chain Department.  The position is an hourly entry level manufacturing job and plays a key role in ensuring we meet deadlines for on time shipments to our customers.
 

Job Summary:

Candidates will perform a variety of tasks to include manually move freight, stock, or other materials using equipment such as forklifts, hoists, cranes, and pallet trucks.

Receives, stores and issues equipment, material, supplies or tools

Compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard

Verifies stock conformance to specifications

Load, Unload and Transport of materials and supplies using various equipment (forklift, hand truck)

Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets

Sort cargo before loading and unloading

Assemble product containers or crates, using hand tools and precut lumber

Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers

Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information

Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Interpret graphs and analyze temperature data.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:

Basic computer knowledge. Proficiency with Tropos, iFix, iPortal, Qpulse and Microsoft

Office required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Ability to operate a forklift and man lift to approved O.S.H.A. standards.
