POSITION SUMMARY: This role is responsible for driving strategic and tactical sourcing efforts, inventory management and efficient transportation of products to and from suppliers and customers. The Supply Chain Manager is accountable for delivering material cost savings through aggressive supplier and inventory management. Additionally, this position drives continuous improvement activities with our key suppliers and cross-functional teams across the business to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.


•    Oversees purchasing, inventory, warehousing and transportation of materials.
•    Provides direction and training to the purchasing and warehouse teams.
•    Monitors plant inventories and purchasing activities partnering closely with production to avoid delays.
•    Analyzes purchasing data to determine demand, cost structures, competitive pricing, opportunities for alternative sourcing, and proper safety stock levels.
•    Manages and improves slow moving and obsolete inventory levels as well as investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies. 
•    Leads continuous improvement activities related to sourcing across all functions to drive simplicity in the business and enhance the customers‘ experience.
•    Works closely with engineering and product development in support of new product launches. 
•    Understands and simplifies category management and purchasing processes to improve procurement and supply chain efficiency. 
•    Selects suppliers who are aligned with our business standards to find the best products in terms of quality, delivery and price and owns supplier scorecard program.
•    Understands supply base capability and ensures proper suppliers are in place to deliver products that meet specifications. 
•    Manages risk mitigation for price and supply.
•    Leverages the organization’s spend by utilizing corporate sourcing teams to drive down cost where possible.
•    Analyzes quotes and negotiates prices & delivery conditions with suppliers.
•    Negotiates and executes contracts and monitors their progress, ensuring the quality of service provided.
•    Shares best practices across the organization.
•    Drives a culture of Safety, Wellness and ITW’s Core Values, ensuring proactive practices.
•    Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying the ITW Business Model and makes process improvement recommendations to management.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s degree in material sourcing, procurement, supply chain or engineering
Experience/Skills:  
•    Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
•    Proficient in supply chain and inventory management systems and key metrics
•    Expertise in Kanban visual inventory management
•    Experience completing purchasing and planning functions in ERP systems
•    Proven record of strong analytical and communication skills
•    Able to effectively drive cross-group collaboration and cooperation, using effective communication, project management, and organizational skills
•    Proven communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
•    Ability to display innovative thinking and excellent problem solving skills
•    Proficient in Excel
•    Understanding of basic business financials
•    Knowledge of methods of manufacturing – plastic injection molding, machining, extrusion, assembly
•    Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts or projects based on the 80/20 principle is a plus

1.    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit and type, occasionally twist/turn, reach above shoulder and outward, stand, walk, bend, and grasp with hands.
2.    The employee must carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and push and pull up to 20 pounds occasionally. 
3.    Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.
