Supply Chain Consultant - Pharma

Seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain Planning Consultant with a strong background in upstream material planning to support our pharmaceutical operations. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous availability of materials, managing inventory levels, and maintaining compliance with quality and specification standards. The successful candidate will operate as part of a global team, ensuring no shortages, delays, or quality issues impact production.

This is a fully remote, 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension

Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end upstream supply chain planning processes for raw materials and intermediates. Ensure materials meet correct specifications, quantity, and quality requirements. Monitor and mitigate risks related to material shortages, delays, or compliance issues. Collaborate closely with procurement, manufacturing, QA/QC, and global supply chain teams. Maintain optimal inventory levels in alignment with demand forecasts and manufacturing schedules. Track and report on inventory KPIs, including turns, days on hand, and obsolescence. Use data-driven insights to improve planning accuracy and supply chain efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of supply planning best practices. Act as subject matter expert for supply chain planning within the pharmaceutical regulatory environment.

Requirements:

Experience in upstream supply chain planning and inventory management. Proven background working in pharmaceutical or life sciences supply chains. Deep understanding of GMP and regulatory standards in pharma manufacturing. Strong experience with material requirements planning (MRP) Expertise in identifying and resolving issues related to material availability, supplier reliability, and quality compliance. Strong analytical and communication skills; experience with supply chain planning tools (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, OMP, etc.) is a plus. Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and collaborate across global teams.
