This pivotal role oversees a dynamic group responsible for product conversions, standardization, substitutions, recall management, and explant tracking. The ideal candidate will bring a strong clinical background and a strategic mindset to collaborate closely with physicians and clinical councils, ensuring alignment with our sourcing strategies. This position plays a critical role in driving value-based care and operational excellence across the organization.

Responsible for the intake of all new product requests, and administrator of the Product Request project management tool and standardized process. Appropriately triages and routes recalls, substitutions, conversions, backorders, providing clinical input as needed. Serves as the lead clinical liaison for Supply Chain Operations and provides clinical expertise for commodity items. Evaluates commodities and low impact clinical items for supply quality including product selection, contract compliance, standardization, and supply chain cost containment. Ensures successful implementation of approved initiatives related to supply expense reduction and contract compliance through education and proper utilization of impacted goods and services, and direct participation in implementation efforts. Collaborates with Clinical Effectiveness Council(s) as needed to develop optimal value for IU Health. Provides facilitation of a System Nursing Executive Supply Committee which shall provide clinical input and leadership related to product application, conversion, standardization and utilization management. Manages sub groups as directed by the System Nursing Executive Supply Committee and provides clinical expertise to oversee clinical review and evaluation of supplies or technologies resulting in recommendations for implementation. Continual monitoring of clinical environment and supply chain activities to identify cost saving opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall strategy of supply chain.
Bachelor's degree in clinical field required; Master's in health-related field or MBA desirable.
5-7 years of experience in a clinical area of healthcare, preferably in an acute care setting.
3-5 years of management or project management experience.
Strong verbal, written and strategic/analytical skills are required.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications; statistical software applications experience preferred.
Must be proficient in the use of Supply Chain business systems and tools.
Requires experience in project management, presentation development, analytics, and customer service.
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
May be required to travel to various locations as needed.
