Supply Chain Analyst (Import/Export)
Overview The Compliance Europe Analyst is a subject matter expert in trade and compliance topics, internal and external customs and trade audits. The role will support the global trade and compliance group with periodic checks of the region’s customs declarations, assuring the correct operation of all import/export moves across the region avoiding government fines and impacts to the business and goods being moved across markets. They will assure business continuity for new and contingency based commercialization projects considering all compliance related risks and requirements needed to get the initiative up and running. They will help manage special programs in the region such as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), IMMEX, free trade zones and make sure that the program keeps their validities year after year. The role will coordinate the agenda on classification of goods, confirming the correct HS Tariff Codes are being used, as well as confirming if there are any Free Trade Zone benefits for those specific products and origins resulting in cost avoidance from import duties. The role will support scheduled audits of the sector highlighting possible opportunities in the operations and avoiding possible government fines and/or service disruptions. Responsibilities • Create baseline of free trade agreements, special programs, free trade zones and special duty regimes that are currently being used in the region • Create a baseline of existing incoterms being used and create incoterm based strategies for operational benefits and possible productivity working alongside the ocean procurement team • Analyze new duty optimization opportunities that leverage the team’s productivity targets such as free trade agreements or special import/export programs • Support the team’s automation initiatives in collaboration with the global excellence and continuous improvement teams • Support team in delivering baseline of existing incoterms, free trade agreements, special import export programs, free trade zones and import-export duty regimes. • Support yearly strategies for the customs and trade team including operational forecasting, planning and working together with the ocean procurement manager for volume forecasting and planning. • Support standardization, continuous improvement, and knowledge management to unlock overall I/E and Customs & Trade optimization and decision making across sectors • Support automation initiatives that result in productivity and time for the team • Support relationships across sectors to assure smooth import export operation of goods • Leverage and replicate good practices across sectors • Create and control SOPs for the various C&T Sectors insuring service levels across sectors for internal customers • Contribute to a 4% YOY productivity from Import-Export (Customs, Duties, Assessorial charges) through cost transformation delivering ~$65 MM to PEP 2023-2025 and develop detailed plans for additional years 2026+. • Establish Global communities of practice for I/E improving sector collaboration with Global team and with each other and sharing best practices Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in International Trade, Customs, logistics & Supply Chain. • 4-5 years of experience in related to customs & trade, logistics and/or compliance. • Ability to positively influence teams outside of direct responsibility and across multiple business units • Utilize technical/functional knowledge that creates opportunities and solves business problems • Self-starter with attention to detail • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively across multi-functional, sector, and business teams • Excellent written and oral communication skills; proactively communicates using appropriate methods for situation and audience in clear, concise and professional manner • English Fluency both written and verbal. • Exceptional communication skills across global businesses. • Experience in being part of and supporting large, complex best practices or projects • Experience with government portals within the different countries in the region • Experience with IT platforms and tools including design, configuration, development and implementation • Experience working with cross-functional competencies, people, and teams • Record in formulating innovative solutions and driving change • Strong team player passionate about collaborating, coordinating, and committed to teamwork in all situations • Advanced excel and other Microsoft tools (PowerApps, Power BI/Tableau)
