Job Title: Supplier Technical Assurance Manager

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

As the Supplier Technical Assurance Manager you will be responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering and product Quality activity for the supply chain teams to enable supplier performance.  This role will also provide Technical / Quality leadership and expertise both internally and at suppliers, to define and deploy strategies that drive quality and supplier improvement at pace as well as act as Technical Authority, assuring the initial and continuing capability of the method of production to produce product conforming to design intent, and ensuring the resolution of technical issues / problems / arisings, to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and leadtime (SQCD).  Additionally, you will integrate all Manufacturing Engineering & Quality activities across the product lifecycle and through the supply chain.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

Responsible for ensuring that all operating processes within the area of accountability are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.                                     Responsible for ensuring that product safety risks are understood and mitigated to meet the required safety levels and reduce the safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable.  Champion product safety and promote a product safety culture in the supply chain, enusuring learning related to product safety is embedded across Rolls-Royce and the supply chain.                                     Lead a culture of zero defects within the area of accountability.  On behalf of the supplier management teams, work with underperforming suppliers to drive high impact quality improvements, using tools such as APQP & ASQ.  Ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within the suppliers are developed and deployed to support Right First Time manufacture.  In conjunction with the SQM, contribute to sourcing decisions by performing pre-selection assessments (ESCCA). Ensure suppliers conform to Rolls-Royce and Regulatory requirements eg SABRe,  and AS13100.                              Coach the community in the use of RRPS (Lean), DMAIC (Six Sigma) and Systems Engineering tools.  Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards.  Drive & coach supplier maturity development, using tools such as the Supplier Maturity Assessment tool kit.                                    Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make technical decisions in relation to the area of accountability.  Chair the Control Authority(s) governing change for area of accountability, subject to appropriate delegation.  In conjunction with the SQM, conduct technical surveillance actvity within the supply chain (eg Critical Part Audits, ESCCAs, etc).                                      Deploy mechanisms to govern the achievement of Manufacturing Engineering and Quality deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.  Manage resource plans and budgets.                                    Buy-off the production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods of manufacture for new parts and assemblies.  Develop numerate, real time methods for capturing process capability, and ensure it is available and acted on within the supply chain and in new product design.                                              Govern production technical packages within the supply chain to ensure business outcomes are achieved.  Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.  Co-ordinate the technical support to suppliers such that problems and arisings are resolved in a structured and timely manner.                                    Work with the supply chain and subject matter experts in Rolls-Royce to drive processes towards identified consistent best practice.   Manage, develop and maintain effective relationships within internal and external supply chain, regulatory bodies and applicable industry forums, ensuring that requirements are understood and delivered.  Coach when required to deliver a successful outcome in line with Rolls-Royce's requirements.

Basic Requirements:

Associate degree and 7 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Procurement ORBachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Procurement ORMaster’s degree and in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Procurement ORJD/PhD, OR9 years of experience in in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Procurement in lieu of a degreeIn order to be considered for this position for location based in the US, you must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
