Job Description
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for implementing supplier quality strategies for assigned commodities, working closely with the supply chain and the quality assurance team. This role drives proactive solutions and developments that enhance overall supplier performance, supports supplier performance and risk processes, and develops predictive measures to prevent issues that might impact facilities or customers.
ResponsibilitiesAssume overall responsibility for the commodities quality performance in accordance with assigned KPI’s.Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.Monitor, measure, and action supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, on-time delivery, and corrective action responsiveness.Serve as a quality expert for the specific commodity and collaborate with engineering and sourcing to define quality requirements and specifications.Act as a lead for supplier quality in supplier selection, driving the process to standard procedures and coordinating with the supply chain.Drive supplier escalations and resolution, solving problems through methodologies like 8D, A3, DMAIC.Support supplier transfers, new product introductions, and projects impacting commodity suppliers.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on supplier management, new product design, and component qualifications.Instill quality processes and best practices within the organization and at suppliers.Assist in the development of new processes that improve supplier quality.Lead and manage continuous improvement activities for the supplier quality team.Essential SkillsMinimum 7 years of experience in a similar role or related experience at a global manufacturing company.Experience with extrusion.Preferred experience in the medical device industry.Additional Skills & QualificationsSupplier relationship management and negotiation.Executive-level communication and stakeholder management in a global company.Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to consistently work through multiple issues by capitalizing on available resources and prioritizing accordingly.Comprehensive analytical skills to determine alternatives and present recommendations.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a continuous improvement environment.Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications.Work Environment
The work environment involves collaboration with engineering and sourcing teams to define quality requirements and specifications. It requires engagement in proactive problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement activities. The role is dynamic, demanding executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills in a global company setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $129000.00 - $161000.00/yr.
