Our expertise has made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100+ years, and we are now looking for an Supplier Quality Engineer who will join our Supply Chain team and will support the business in making a valuable difference in the century to come.
**What Will You Do?**
+ To lead improvement of supplier performance relating to quality,safety and on-time delivery for assigned suppliers and reduce the cost of quality (COQ) for Howden
+ To approve and develop new suppliers to required levels of performance expected by Howden and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers.
+ Develop & maintain relationships in order to improve partnerships between Howden & suppliers.
+ Manage supplier audit process. Audit critical suppliers annually, identify opportunities for improvement, & guide on implementation of more effective processes. Lead the corrective actions process following the audits.
+ Responsible for coordinating with Procurement & Category Management organizations for enabling growth & quality improvements at preferred suppliers.
+ Monitor and report on supplier quality and on-time delivery performance and initiatives to improve.
+ Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams by use of PPAP and PFMEA methods.
+ Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, & Engineering, & Procurement organizations to drive quality improvements.
+ Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier issues.
+ Drive use data analytics to focus on critical supplier quality issues.
+ Responsible for other duties and tasks as directed.
**What do you need to bring?**
+ Strong technical background in one of the following areas; casting, machining, metallurgy, welding/fabrication, or relevant manufacturing experience.
+ Effective problem solving, root-cause analytical skills to lead & influence others to drive change.
+ Able to mentor and develop associates technical and business acumen.
+ Ability to act as a consultant to Suppliers, Quality, Manufacturing, & Engineering to improve process & quality.
+ Ability to understand & support commercial strategy.
+ Good team player, strong inter-personal skills.
+ Accurately captures, records, analyses, and communicates information.
+ Enjoys difficult challenges, finding solutions not problems.
+ Good communication skills at all levels, written and verbal.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
