As a Supplier Quality Engineer at SPM Oil and Gas, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of all incoming materials and components from external suppliers—particularly those used in the production of API 6A 21st Edition products. This position is essential to maintaining our API Q1 10th Edition certification and supporting our commitment to delivering zero-defect products. In this role, you will lead supplier audits, manage non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure that all suppliers meet our rigorous quality standards.

Travel Requirement: 20%

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is not available.

What You Will Do:

Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.

Participates in supplier quality improvement initiatives; works with suppliers to develop and improve quality levels.

Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers, implementing process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits and records.

Identified quality problem(s) and determined a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.

Procurement Function: Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.

What Will Set You Apart:

Fluency in English – Strong command of both written and spoken English.

Educational Background – Diploma in Engineering or Manufacturing, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality management.

Technical Expertise – Proven knowledge in Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality tools, and engineering principles. Strong auditing capabilities for systematic supplier evaluations.

Interpersonal Skills – Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to ensure supplier compliance and foster continuous improvement.

Analytical Abilities – Skilled in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis. Proficient in data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to identify, resolve, and prevent supplier-related quality issues.

Product Knowledge – Familiarity with API 6A products and their quality requirements is a plus.

Inspection Competency – Solid understanding of dimensional inspections and relevant equipment, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Hardness Testing, Positive Material Identification (PMI), and Welding Inspections.

This job requires active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps.
