Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).The work model for the role is: #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Merida.You will be mainly accountable for:• Preparing supplier qualification schedules, monitor and approve supplier part, material and service qualification activities, e.g. APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), FAIR (First Article Inspection Report), capacity analysis, and verification in accordance with ABB project timing and milestones. Ensures supplier is in compliance with the ABB Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance, ABB standards and applicable regulatory requirements. • Plans & conducts supplier assessments (e.g. potential, scheduled, special), including assessment reporting and findings (major, minor or opportunities for improvement). Verifies effective closure of assessment findings by the supplier. • Manage supplier development activities • Monitors and evaluates supplier performance, quality issues, and development actions. • Ensures full utilization of SAP-Ariba, according to global procedure. • Ensures full utilization of local system for reporting, monitoring and actioning quality and On Time Delivery (OTD). • Initiates, monitors and verifies supplier quality, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and timely corrective action as part of supply base management activities.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related. At least 1 to 3 years of some quality background with hands on experience in quality assurance and/or supply chain Working knowledge of quality/manufacturing processes Working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis, Statistical Process Control Fluent English written and verbal communication skills, additional languages are an asset. Lean 6 sigma green belt or equivalent as desirable Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to various audiences, like managers, subject experts, buyers and suppliers
