Supplier Quality Development Engineer

Your Key Responsibilities

KPI/PI Tracking: Regularly track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance indicators (PIs).

Escalation Process: Initiate the escalation process when necessary.

Supplier Strategy: Define and implement a global supplier strategy, manage the supplier portfolio, recommend potential suppliers for sourcing councils, and scout for new ones.

→ Define and implement of a global qualitative and technology-specific supplier strategy in cooperation
with the global category manager
→ Manage the global supplier porƞolio in cooperaƟon with the category manager
→ Provide recommendaƟon of the suppliers for sourcing councils regarding quality and technology 
performance and their potential
→ Conduct supplier scouting to fulfill the potential business needs

Supplier Approval & Onboarding: Plan and conduct initial assessments to approve potential suppliers and release them into the SAP system.

Active Supplier Development: Monitor supplier risks, conduct on-site assessments, and initiate supplier development programs (like SIP) as needed.

Supplier Evaluation: Communicate with suppliers about their annual evaluation results and define appropriate actions.

Other Activities: Lead task force actions for escalated issues, support quality-related contract negotiations, provide technology training, and explore improvements to elevate supplier technology.

Your Qualifications University degree (min. Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, or a related field) 5 years of experience in quality or supplier management, supplier quality, or a similar role within
manufacturing or engineering environments High willingness to travel (approx. 50% of the working time).
Advanced knowledge of business relevant Quality Management Standards (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO
45001, ISO 14001) Knowledge of quality core tools & methods (8D, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control plan, 5S, Lean
production, Small lot principle, Error proofing, Mistake proofing, Poka-yoke, Traceability,…) Auditing skills and practical experience (according to VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, IATF 16949) Advanced knowledge of the assigned technology (such as specific process requirements, process
monitoring and measurement, ISO, TS or IPC standards,...) Knowledge of technology (Bearing Components, Iron Casting, Machining, Grinding, Heat Treatment)
