Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Boeing Defence UK Supply Chain team!

We are looking for ambitious professionals to join the Boeing UK Supplier Management & Procurement Team in the Industrial Partnerships and Future Growth team. This role includes Social Value and Climate Educator responsibilities outlined below. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Defence Digital campaign initiatives and the implementation of Social Value policies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Social Value and Climate Educator commitments through the implementation of Social Value policies. This role involves engaging diverse audiences, including students, community groups, and professionals, to inspire action towards environmental stewardship and climate resilience.

This position will require travel to Bristol or Milton Keynes area schools and BDUK Bristol or Milton Keynes sites to undertake the work, local community centres, and industry events. Flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.

Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Social Value programme commitments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective tracking and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to BDUK Supply Chain and Programme teams, and UK government as required.Drive engagement with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sectors by designing and delivering innovative training sessions, workshops, and collaborative initiatives that foster capacity building and social impact.Oversee and manage third-party partners responsible for delivering Social Value commitments, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution.Support BDUK’s sustainability initiatives as requiredSupport as required the BDUK’s SME Action plan development, implementation and progress reporting to UK governmentEngage and understand the local strategies in Bristol and Milton Keynes (Bristol One City Ecological Strategy and Milton Keynes Sustainability Action Plan), as well as UK and MOD environmental policy and latest climate research, policies, and technologies.Engage with council leadership, key community partners, and Regional Defence and Security Clusters (RDSCs) to better understand evolving priorities in relation to climate change possible contribution to such efforts.Design and deliver engaging climate change sessions for school learners. Over the contract, we will work with a minimum of 25 unique schoolsDevelop and implement climate education materials and sessions for school learners, tailored to various age groups audiences.Conduct workshops, presentations, and interactive sessions on climate science, environmental issues, and sustainability practices.Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to promote climate literacy.Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make improvements based on feedback.Implement and maintain the Social Value data gathering tool and dashboard, reporting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) commitments, including but not limited to schools involved in climate science sessions, learners participating in sessions, number of green spaces created and/or enhanced, community environmental projects, community volunteer time.

Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience supporting cross-functional teamsAbility to acquire UK SC security clearanceInterpersonal skills and customer focus are essential to be successful in the roleCollaborative working with others from across the program and functions to find creative solutions and resolve issuesExperience in leading projects; including management of schedule and issues, risks and opportunities, performance reporting of the project; providing information about the progress to senior management and creating and implementing corrective action plans as requiredExperience in climate education, social value program management, or sustainability initiatives.

Desirable Qualifications:

Familiarity with UK government Social Value frameworks.Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, education, climate studies, or a related field.Strong understanding of climate science, environmental issues, and sustainability principles.Experience in teaching, training, or public speaking.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.Passion for environmental education and climate advocacy.5+ years of experience in the related field.
