Supplier Industrialization Engineer
Location: Hollister, CA The Supplier Process Engineer (or Supplier Industrialization Engineer) is responsible for driving supplier readiness, process capability, and continuous improvement efforts during production ramps, new product introductions (NPI) and technology transitions. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our suppliers are capable of meeting the quality, delivery, and cost requirements essential to supporting our aggressive growth in the aerospace and defense sector. Responsibilities: + Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Procurement to ensure robust industrialization plans are in place with strategic suppliers. + Assess and validate supplier manufacturing process for capability, capacity, and repeatability during NPI and production ramp-up. + Lead or support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and Process Flow development with suppliers. + Perform on-site process assessments, audits, and root cause analysis to identify and mitigate risks to quality and schedule. + Define and deploy supplier process control methodologies and KPI’s to ensure first -time quality and sustained performance. + Support PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), First Article Inspection (FAI), and AS9102 compliance for new or revised components. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives at suppliers using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, DMAIC). + Act as technical liaison between design/engineering and suppliers to resolve process and manufacturability issues early in the product lifecycle. + Support make vs. buy analysis and manufacturability assessments during early state product development. + Track and report supplier industrialization and transition metrics to leadership and stakeholders. Required Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred). + 5-10 years of experience in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries. + Proven experience in ramping production with external suppliers and driving NPI readiness. + Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as precision machining, casting, forging, composites, welding, electronic products and assemblies subject to IPC Class 3 standards. + Familiarity with AS9100, AS9145, and relevant aerospace quality and documentation requirements. + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. + Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. + Willingness to travel up to 25-40% to domestic and international suppliers. Preferred Qualifications: + Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification. + Experience with supplier onboarding and technical capability assessments. + Background in digital manufacturing tools (e.g. SPC, Minitab, MES). + Familiarity with APQP and PPAP in an aerospace context. + Experience working in a high-growth manufacturing environment. **Ralliant Corporation Overview** Ralliant, originally part of Fortive, now stands as a bold, independent public company driving innovation at the forefront of precision technology.
