**Senior Supplier Development Manager PCB/PWB**
We are looking for a **_Senior Supplier Development Manager PCB/PWB_** to join our Curtiss Wright Defense Electronics team in **_Ottawa, ON_**
You will be responsible for leading the Curtiss Wright Defense Electronics initiative on PCB / PWB supply base as a working manager. You will have influence on all supplier management activities including coordination with program design teams and proposal efforts, and overall performance of the PCB yields at the supplier. You will be responsible for coordinating a team of subject matter experts from the PWB committee including Design, Quality, Component Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement and PDM’s. This position will work closely with suppliers to address production issues, negotiate contracts, and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiency and delivery performance. You will play a key role in risk management, ensuring that the supply base remains robust and resilient to disruptions, ultimately contributing to the overall competitiveness and success of the organization. Also, in developing collaborative relationships with Engineering Managers, Program Leadership, and group leaders to support needs of the business. Your role will result in better coordination and support across key stakeholder groups. This is an on-site based position with options to function remotely. This position will require travel to the supporting Manufacturing stake holders.
Your Challenge:
+ Possess expert level experience with the applicable technologies on CAD tool suite, and be able to mentor, supervise and provide guidance for lower-level tool users
+ Partner with program teams to ensure programs are correctly staffed, PCB design processes are being followed, and proposal efforts are supported
+ Work closely with PDM’s to align PWB strategy on Technology roadmaps with Curtiss Wright product
+ Responsible for performance of each operating site in PCB design group within the Digital CCA department including staffing, training, onboarding, employee development, engagement and proactive retention
+ Establish metrics to drive year-over-year cost savings & performance improvement
+ Collaborate with site leadership to drive and assist understanding of new CW tools and processes and flow down division information to the site PCB team
+ Serve as PCB functional representative for site specific design reviews and review/approval of proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) as needed
+ Participate in technical evaluation and oversight of program execution and lead/participate in technical issue resolution teams when required
+ Ensure knowledge transfer and pairing of less experienced engineers with more experienced PCB design engineers is established
+ While this position is primarily local to the Ottawa site, travel may be required to support various other programs across CWDS
+ Experience with chairing a division wide PCB committee or standardising PCB design across the division will be an asset.
+ Conduct supplier audits to drive improvements and ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
+ Work closely with internal teams like procurement, quality assurance, engineering and production to align supplier capabilities with company needs.
+ Lead supplier meetings and workshops to foster strong relationships.
+ Provide yearly updated supplier Matrix Technology disclosures.
+ Execute updates to a PCB Technology Roadmap and review internally and externally
+ Maintain an approved AVL of PCB suppliers based on the Technology required.
+ Provide periodic updates to Supplier CA’s that have been issued.
**What You Bring:**
+ Experience in managing Cross Functional teams/PCB engineering and design teams with knowledge in design of High Speed/Low Loss 100 / 400 Gb PCB
+ Should have experience in RF & high-speed board design based on AMD-FPGA / Freescale microprocessor / Intel microprocessor.
+ Knowledge of latest FPGA and different board architecture is an added advantage.
+ Should have experience in all stages of PCB design – Library creation, understanding or mechanical drawing, PCB design, Fabrication process and testing.
+ Proficient in Allegro PCB tool, PADS PCB & ORCAD schematic tool with Basic knowledge on mechanical design tool like AUTO CAD, Solid works
+ Experience in PCB Layout designs using Cadence and Mentor graphics PADs design tool with understanding of Thermal design and Signal integrity
+ Expertise in PCB Footprint and Symbol creation. Ownership for library, multilayer PCB Layout, CAM and Gerber release
+ Basic knowledge on CAM validations and interact with manufacturer/assembly units for any suggestions/clarifications.
+ Minimum of 10+ years in supplier development, procurement, or supply chain management.
+ Desired Experience in Aerospace manufacturing or other related industries.
+ Contracts and negotiation experience required.
+ Solid organization skills with the ability to manage strategic, operational, and tactical responsibilities in a “roll up the sleeves” hands-on culture
+ Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Experience using Cadence Allegro or other relative CAD tools is not required but a positive.
+ Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record in successfully concluding and executing vendor agreements structured to meet corporate objectives.
**Education:**
+ Engineering Degree and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience.
+ Degree in Supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
+ IPC certification CID or CID+ Experience using Agile PLM or Teamcenter PLM / Expedition tool
+ Functional knowledge on IST / IL test protocols / Creation of Stack-ups
Other:
Willingness to travel up to 25%+ for supplier audits and relationship management. Ideal Candidate will also have previously established relationships U.S. Manufacturing Facilities and PCB Laminate Providers. The ideal candidate is proactive, results-oriented, and possesses strong leadership and mentorship qualities. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to analyze supplier performance data and resolve supply chain issues promptly.
