**Role Definition:**
To provide technical expertise and leadership to Caterpillar’s supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the suppler network. In addition, to implement a well-documented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls. This will be used for the evaluation and development of new and existing suppliers worldwide, to maximizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network.
**Responsibilities:**
- Evaluate and develop Powertrain/Undercarriage/Cooling suppliers to meet CAT quality requirements ( **Axle, Gearbox, Transmission, Engine, Battery Pack, E-Motor, Generator, Gear, Spindle, Sprocket, Rubber Roller, Chain, Cooling Package** ).
- Conduct supplier audits (QCLDM, QMS, PCN, CAV etc.) for supplier selection and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes (cutting, bending, welding, painting, machining, etc.) capability.
- Lead APQP (CPPD, PPAP, FMEA, SPC) and sourcing council for NPI/NSI project.
- Applying quality tools (e.g., 8D, SPC, FMEA) for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct supplier rough capacity capability planning (RCCP) and ramp up test to assess and find gaps on supplier capacity.
- Work with cross-functional team to drive supplier VAVE initiatives for cost optimization and design improvements.
- Identify and drive supplier automation project to improve supplier PQVC.
- Develop and execute improvement plans to elevate supplier capabilities to meet Supplier Excellence Recognition.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles to streamline supplier processes, reduce waste, and improve operational performance.
- Support cost reduction & lead time optimization in the supply chain.
**Experience, Technical knowledge:**
- 3+ years in supplier development, quality management (APQP) or **i** **ntense interest in this area** is preferred
- Knowledge of **electrification (powertrain system is preferred)** , gear machining process, heat treatment process, GD&T standards and quality system; **Or quick learner with engineering education background**
- Fluent communication in English verbally and in writing.
**Additional Technical Skills:**
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred)
- Problem-solving (8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI)

Supplier Evaluations and Certification: Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification; ability to identify the methods, tools and documentation for evaluating, selecting and certifying vendors, suppliers and partners.
**Additional Information:**
The position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
