Supplier Development Engineer, Cable and Connector

**Summary:**
Meta SDE team is looking for a supplier development engineer to be responsible for overall quality and manufacturing process development within the supply chain on both Cable and Connector Commodities. This role is ideal for a motivated applicant that is self-driven, enjoys working in a fast-paced development environment, and has a solid quality and manufacturing engineering background.
**Required Skills:**
Supplier Development Engineer, Cable and Connector Responsibilities:
1. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for overall Cable/Contact/Connector process development and readiness within the supply chain
2. Drive Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) activities with vendors and provide technical support in enhancing process capability and solving technical issues
3. Identify equipment, fixture, and tooling needs and drive implementation efforts to qualify and optimize the manufacturing process
4. Establish quality and process control plans at vendors for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered
5. Responsible for conducting Design/Process FMEA, Failure analysis, PPAP, and Statistical Process Control
6. Bring up and qualify the production line through DOEs, Line qualification, Machine Buy-off, Cycle Time & UPH studies, and Automation
7. Evaluate prospective vendors for process capability based on project needs, then be a major part of supplier identification and selection
8. Publish concise reports on module yield performance, specification convergence status
9. drive Failure analysis, Corrective Action implementation plan, and yield bridge to mass production
10. Collaborate with Suppliers and Engineering teams in assessing, proposing, and developing process technologies based on project requirements
**Minimum Qualifications:**

11. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
12. 5+ years of working experience in the Cable and Connector industry. Solid knowledge on manufacturing process design and supplier quality management
13. Hands-on experience in cable and connector manufacturing process development with an understanding of equipment and methodologies commonly used in the industry
14. Experience with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, GR&R, DoE, metrology, GD&T, and Correlation studies
15. Experience with the typical failure mode and its corresponding failure analysis methodology
16. Experience with the reliability test plan to do quality risk assessment for Cable and Connector at component level
17. Good communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
18. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to vendors at different locations

19. Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
20. 8+ years of working experience in Cable and Connector industry
21. Knowledgeable in the plating stack up solution proposal for required anti-corrosion performance on connector
22. Experience with the Optical cable manufacturing process and testing methodology
23. Ownership and Leadership mindset with an ability to be in a leadership position and achieve results with minimal supervision
