Supplemental Physician- SE Michigan

In this position…

This role involves providing clinical medical services to employees and new hires, including evaluation and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries, as well as completion of post-offer, fitness-for-duty,  medical surveillance and certification examinations.  

You'll have... 

Doctorate in Allopathic or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school.Board certification in at least one of the following: Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency MedicineUnrestricted medical license in the State of MichiganBasic life support (BLS) and AED certificationMinimum 3 years of work experience in direct patient care in occupational health including performance of medical surveillance examinations to support compliance with OSHA standards and evaluation and treatment of acute injuries. Experience working with electronic medical records to document patient care.Great communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary health care teams. Ability to interpret radiographic studies, spirometry tests, urine drug screens, and hearing tests Ability to place simple (single layer) sutures.

Certification as a DOT medical examiner (NRCME certification) Experience with use of a slit lamp to perform a preliminary evaluation for eye injuries

This position is a salary grade PL6 with a range of $158,000-$262,000.

Please note that these salary parameters are based on a full-time position and will be converted to an hourly rate for this role.

What you'll do...

Provide patient care onsite in outpatient clinics located at Ford facilities, an average of 2 shifts per week, 8 shifts per month-variable hours and locations. May require working evening shift up to once per week (12 noon to 8 pm), no weekends. Please note this a part-time role.

Evaluate and treat reported work-related illnesses and injuries of employees. Perform post-offer, medical surveillance, certification and fitness-for-duty physical examination.Evaluate employees with episodes of personal illness while at work. Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, best medical practices, and Ford company policies.Provide clinical oversight for staff Nurses working within their scope of practice.

Multiple sites in Southeast Michigan including Rouge Campus (Dearborn), Research and Engineering Campus (Dearborn), Michigan Assembly Plant (Wayne), and Livonia Transmission Plant (Livonia), Sterling Axle and Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center (Sterling Heights) .
