Summary This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2392000 and is part of the NJ 177th COMPTRL FLT, National Guard. Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SPECIALIST, GS-0501-12, you will: Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities Manage, direct, and execute wide spectrum pay operations Develop policies, coordinate, and perform all military pay functions Confer and resolve all problems areas related to the branch's administrative and functional responsibilities Conduct analysis to determine the effectiveness of operations Direct the preparation, analysis, reconciliation, consolidation and submission of all required finance reports Participate in formal, and informal management planning, policy, and decision making sessions Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Areas of Consideration: CAT 4: Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey Air National Guard Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grades: TSgt/E-6 to MSgt/E-7 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) NOTE: This is a DOD FM Certification position. Must obtain Certification within two years of appointment. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administration, professionalism, technical, investigation, finance Analyzing problems to identify significant factors Gather pertinent data Recognize solutions Plan and organize work Communicate effectively orally and in writing Experience using computer and automation systems SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months experience in the following: Knowledge of planning, programming, budgeting Ability to execute regulations, guidelines, and processes Ability to apply analytical reasoning Ability to develop alternative solutions Ability to manage the function of the work to be performed Ability to lead, direct, and assign work of personnel Education None. Additional Information Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
