Job Summary
The Supervisor, Transfer Center is responsible for leading daily activities of the Access / Transfer Center teams. Including training and assuring quality and performance measures are met. Attends meetings and responds timely to all requests. Identifies performance deficiencies and opportunities while working alongside and maintaining excellent communication with Manager/Director. Effectively maintain a work environment which promotes communication to stimulate the morale, engagement and growth of employees.
Essential Functions
Directs, coaches, and develops staff members to provide high quality service and to grow in their capabilities. Monitors employee performance for compliance with Access/CHS policies and guidelines - EMTAL, FMALA Responsible for maintaining workload balance, ensuring maximum efficiency, monitoring employee / team productivity and quality performance and reducing cost. Schedules staff according to operational needs. Establishes and monitors team goals, delegates effectively. Monitors and ensures effective utilization of equipment and staff within the Transfer Center. Trains, develops, motivates and assists employees in reaching new levels of skills, leadership, knowledge, and attitude. Designs and operationalizes quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to improve and maintain department operations within the transfer center. Identifies and improves departmental processes and resources to ensure quality patient care and optimal staff morals and satisfaction. Initiates standard monthly and weekly communications with departmental staff. Reviews work completed by staff for accuracy and completeness. Promptly identify issues and develop action plans to mitigate or resolve. Provide team members with routine feedback on individual quality and productivity performance Identify performance deficiencies and opportunities and assist Manager/Director with employee coaching and remediation. Implementation of action plans as needed. Handles escalated issues related to daily operations. Conducts, attends and participates in Team meetings, interviews, conference calls and training sessions. Review and respond timely to requests, including emails and telephone calls. Provide input during employee performance evaluations Monitor attendance and approve and enter time exceptions/updates in KRONOS Assists in ensuring coverage for staff during vacation/leaves Develops an atmosphere of trust and engaged communication with staff throughout the Transfer Center and with hospital staff / stakeholders that we help to support during daily operations. May provide back-up support by answering the phone, taking initial referrals, and/or assisting with the primary duties and activities of front-line staff. Rotating Departmental On Call to cover after hours and Holidays Must be proficient will all Transfer Coordinator Functions and provide back up and fill in when staffing dictates. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED required Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field preferred 3-5 years experience in a healthcare setting required 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in patient services, transfer center, or a related department preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of hospital transfer processes, patient flow management, and healthcare operations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Ability to make quick decisions while considering patient safety and care needs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and patient transfer management software. Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory requirements related to patient care and data privacy.
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required LCSW- License Clinical Social Worker required LPC - Licensed Prof Counselor required
